Anyone using this fan can tell how it compares to 2x 80mm L1A Panaflos? That is, if you've heard 2x 80mm Panflos. :D

is it noisier...the same or quieter?

I'm planning on getting a case which can use 120mm fans and I was wondering about the noise. My current case has 2x 80mm Panflos in the back and the noise is almost inaudible.

thanks for any help!

definately noisier at full speed. but, lower the speed via rheobus and u can control what noise/airflow ratio u want. all in all, it definately beats 2 80 mm's.

for instance when im gaming, since i have a zalman heatpipe cooler (and noise doesnt bother me when im gaming obviously) i turn both my 120 m panaflo's (in and out) to full, and 92m panaflo hs fan to full, and the 80mm panaflo in the psu to full. but when im just doing normal stuff. i generally put all the fans to 7v or lower (and when i sleep i usually turn off the front fan)

thanks dinde.

yeah I was thinking of running them at 7v if they were noisy. have to check on the rheobus and see if prices have gone down though.

I see your point about letting them loose when gaming. that's the primary reason why I'm looking to get 120mm fans. my current setup gets way too hot when I'm playing for hours.

BTW. is it 'noticeably' much noisier...I mean...much noisier than 2x 80mm fans or is it just noise from the air passing?

*you have a Genie Junior?

it is both. it pushes roughly 2.7 times as much air as a single panaflo. also, go for teh sunbeam rheobus at svc.com i baught it there for 20 bux (prices might even go down further) and there are no wierd buzzing noises or sudden deaths that i have heard about (unlike the vantec). u can also hook up lights to them and make them bnrighter/dimmer and turn em off.
