Anyone using 32GB in their phones?

I just got an Atrix 2 (nice, fast, fun) but the 16GB micro SD from my old phone is already full of music, apps, and large maps (hiking, geocaching). Thinking of going to 32GB. Any recommendations? TIA.

No, not really. This particular Class 10 card is my fasted card.

I also have another 32GB Class 10 from Wintec, and a 32GB Class 4 from Sandisk. The other two are a mixed bag- the Wintec has faster sustained writes, the Sandisk better random writes.

The Patriot card beats them both on everything. The only issue is apparently the useable-life of the Patriot card is low, but I haven't hit that wall yet.

Which card is this? Link to exact Patroit product with item model number on Newegg or Amazon?
You're probably confusing or mixing up sequential with random performance somehow.
Your claim certainly doesn't match most of the test results I've seen.
Also item model number of the Sandisk that you have? It would be interesting if we have the same one because I also use a 32GB Class 4.

There are also reports of cards fading out in performance(similar to how SandForce SSD's never get their full out the box performance back, unlike the ones from Intel)

Right, that card on Amazon is in my Wish List. Class 4 should be fine for my needs. Were I sticking it in a dSLR and shooting sporting events, I'd probably go higher.

I was surprised too. My Sandisk card smokes my other cards (I have a collection from Lexar, Wintec, Adata, PNY-well I lost the Wintec). But the Patriot seems to beat all.

The review go on about data corruption, which might be the other side of the sword.

That might happen. My Patriot is my newest card, right at a month.
 
I also have an Atrix 2 and was thinking of putting in a 32 gig card so it could be my music player all day. Already have a car audio system with a line in jack, and I got a dubbing cable laying around someplace. Seems silly to leave perfectly good music in my car (it also has an SD slot). Would be better to keep and use it all day long.
 
i just realized my sd card is not class marked but tests at 5 MB/s write, 21.6 MB/s based on some app off android market.
 
My Galaxy Nexus has 32GB built in but I wish it also had a uSDXC slot so I could add more. I don't think streaming music is a good idea most of the time as it eats a lot of data that you can avoid if you have the music on your phone already. Honestly, I'd have 64GB or more if that were feasible -- modern phones are great for showing pictures and video and both are huge data hogs and, once again, why waste data bandwidth streaming from the cloud if you have the storage in the phone.

My next toy, if Sammy ever pulls there head out of there *ss, is the Galaxy Tab 7.7. I'd love to get it with 64GB then add a 64GB uSD card. If streaming seems more appealing to you that's fine, but don't complain about data caps if they hit you for overages...

Hmm...Only this model is listed on SanDisk's official website, which is what I also have. You sure someone didn't sell you a fake? There are a lot of fake SanDisk out there floating on eBay, Amazon unauthorized sellers, and other questionable sites.

Reading the reviews from both Newegg and Amazon were a pain.
Lets hope yours doesn't flake out after 2-3 months and lead to data corruption like everyone is experiencing with your card.

Your results are probably an anomaly and the first one I've ever seen such.
SanDisk smashes all Class 10 cards in both Random Write 4KB (QD=1) and Random Write 4KB (QD=32) performance in all CrystalDiskMark reviews I've seen on the web.
 
I am using a class 4 SanDisk 32BG card. Mine came with one, & I bought another off 1saleaday.. Both are SanDisk & both work great.

Uhm. Just because that Sandisk card is damn good and its only rated Class 4 doesn't mean it is an automatic win and any other "Class 10" cards suck.

What solves it all is benchmarks. If you have benchmarks of that specific Sandisk card slapping the hell out of the Class 10 Patriot card, then by all means, show the data. Otherwise there's no need for this.
