The Cooper RS3-S are also supposed to be good.

I got a set of Cooper Zeon RS3-A and they literally transformed my car. So smooth riding, quiet and much better handling than the Dunlops that were on it stock even when new.

Hankook and Continental both tend to use very floppy sidewalls that require high slip angles to extract max performance. That's fine if you're comfortable with that kind of driving, and can dial in extra negative camber to keep the contact patch stable.

But if you want a tire with quick steering response and a "on rails" feeling, I'm guessing the PSS are a better choice.

Yea I put RS3-A on my CTS. Much better than the Michelins that came with the car.

For the money, they aren't bad. You can't compare PSS to this tire because it costs a lot more than Evo V12's. Are these tires discontinued or are they still in supply? I have a korean tire on my german automobile and a chinese iphone. I don't discriminate.

Well the V12's are $135 a tire and last 20,000 miles on average. The PSS are $185 a tire and last 30,000 miles on average. I'm going back and forth right now deciding which set I want now.

I'd seriously get Bridgestone S04s over the Hankook. Then decide if you really want the PSS.

Michelin has a 70 off/4 tires coupon right now. And there's a slickdeal saying if you are an executive member at costco, you can get an additional $60 off.

I put Yokohama Avid Ascend tires on my previous car (V6 Mustang) - stock tires weren't grippy enough for my tastes - and my current car (Mazda 3) came with Yokohoma Avid tires.

Very happy with them. The only other tires I considered getting were a set of Nokian WRG2 or WRG3 tires, but those are better suited for climates with snow.

My Michelin PSS's are here! Costco had a $60 coupon for tires, plus a $70 coupon from Michelin, plus a pretty good price and free shipping, added up to 225/40R18 PSS's for $700 before mounting. Tirerack would've been an extra $100. I'm happy.
