Anyone used NBA League Pass Broadband?

preslove

Hi,

I'm not paying for cable. I'm fine with DVDs, netflix, hulu, and the occasional torrent. But, I'd like to follow the NBA a bit. They have a $110 early bird price for their broadband league pass for all the games of 7 teams. Has anyone tried league pass? Is the picture quality worth it?

I'm thinking:

San Antonio (I'm in south texas and it's drivable)
Lakers
Orlando (my team from Florida)
Oklahoma City
Boston
Miami
And one more I haven't decided on. Thoughts?

I would think the quality would be pretty good, though I haven't tried it.

as for a last team, here are the ones I would consider:

Jazz - Jerry Sloan's team will always show up. Deron williams is so fun to watch, and with boozer gone millsap will get a ton of play.

Bulls - Derrick Rose with a solid supporting cast. Might not be the most exciting to watch though, aside from rose

Bucks, Rockets, Hawks, Grizzlies

maybe even suns, nuggets, blazers, knicks

i was tempted to get nfl for $50 but i was wondering about how good the feed was. when they had the us open on this year the site was so overloaded that you couldnt watch more than a couple minutes without being bumped, which would be annoying if you were paying

I want to watch the Clippers a few times for sure; Griffin is a monster. Too bad they are the Clippers.

I'd probably pick the Suns as my final team because I love Nash, or the Blazers because they are the closest team to me now. 🙁

You don't get games that are nationally televised(ESPN, network, etc). Remember that when you're picking. I just bought league pass broadband.

I'm signed up for it. The blackout rules suck but there are ways around the problem for locally broadcast games. National broadcast games can be a problem but for ESPN there is espn3.com, if your ISP carries it. TNT is the only major problem and there are, erm, websites for that too.

Yea I'd probably either choose Clippers or Bulls. Clips just cus of Griffin to see how he does this season and Bulls cus of D-Rose and Noah. Noah is a beast.

That means the San Antonio games will likely be blacked out.

Wow that sucks. So that means no Laker, Miami, or Boston ganes since those are almost always going to get televised nationally.

If I went with LPB (wife won't let me, grrr.)

1) Spurs (been a SAS fan for over 20 years, and I'm stuck in Houston.)
2) Mavs (My wife's team)
3) OKC (Durant!)
4) Bulls (Rose!)
5) Magic (Dwight!)
6) Trailblazers (Roy!)
7) Lakers or Celtics

I like it.. except I would sub out the Blazers for the Wizards.. Mavs for Knicks .. Lakers

I ended up going with:

1) Orlando (Go Magic!)
2) Miami (because I'm hoping to witness major fail)
3) Boston
4) LA
5) SA
6) OKC
7) Phoenix

The last one was hard to pick. It was a toss-up between Phoenix and the Bulls. I also considered Cleveland because at least one Cavs fan is bound to leap to their death from the upper deck during a game this year.

No Heat = fail

hahaha. I have tickets for the first heat game in cleveland. It would be awesome to go, but not sure if its worth an 8 hour drive + hotel

I'm not a huge fan of the suns style but it should be an interesting team this year with amare gone.

Why would I willingly watch the Heat? If there's one person I fucking hate in this word, it's LBJ. I like Wade & Bosh, but will not cheer for them this year.

You don't have to cheer for a team to watch them. They're the team to beat this year so I'm sure teams will try really hard to beat them.

I liked the quality of the games, though like everyone says the blackout rules suck.

And don't install the app that they prompt you to when you log on, takes up bandwidth.

Not really, the teams to beat this year are the Lakers and Boston - they're the teams that were in the Finals. The Heat haven't done shit, as Wade was gifted his championship and LBJ got swept out of his only appearance.

Them being in the Finals doesn't matter. The Heat are the new team to beat.

Houston!

I was thinking about buying this because Dish seems to be on the losing end with its negotiations with Fox, and so far I can't get southwest FSN which televises the Houston games...grrrrrr
