Anyone used a clamp style phone mount?

Just wondering if you've had good luck with them or if they don't clamp hard enough that the phone would fly out when going over a rough road.

One of my coworkers has one of those, and he likes it. I looked at it and it seems OK, but you will get the best results by going with something that matches your phone's width almost exactly. (little to no stretching, but still solidly holding) Yeah they clamp hard enough. It will get loose as it ages but I suppose you can tell when that occurs.

I had something similar back when I had my G2 and it worked fine. Never ever bumped loose or anything and mine was the type that relied on rubber foam providing friction to hold the phone.

If you want a really good one, look into the ram x-grip.

I have an iOttie mount for my g2, works fine it you don't have it in a case, but with it in an otterbox commuter case, it holds like crap. I didn't know they made these type of holders, may have to pick one up.
