Anyone use Zoneedit

Ipno

Golden Member
I use zoneedit for some of my domain names, they all seem to be down right now and zoneedit isn't responding. Wondering if anyone here uses zoneedit and may be seeing the same issues.

I have a three domains with them. The two that use the same dns servers are down, the other is not.

Ah, they finally updated their network status page:

We are currently experiencing issues with NS2.ZONEEDIT.COM, NS3.ZONEEDIT.COM, NS6.ZONEEDIT.COM, and NS17.ZONEEDIT.COM. We are aware of the situation and our engineers are working diligently to get this resolved.

darn, most of mine are using ns2 and ns17.

domains work, but my emails (forwarded from there to gmail) have been delayed at least 20 minutes for the past 4-5 days or so.

any suggestions for an alternative? I was using freedns.afraid.org for a bit because of google hosted (needed it to get gchat to work).

I've actually been trying to look for a paid service that does the same, but isn't outrageous in yearly... and reliable.

My problem is that I've used zoneedit as a paid service. So far it's been a complete waste of money.

I switched dns back to my servers. I had some issues with a couple of dns servers in the beginning of the summer, so to make dns transitions easier in case something went down hard I went with a 3rd party dns host. So far, that move has caused more trouble than anything else.

I've heard some good things about http://www.dnsmadeeasy.com/, but I'm hesitant to open another account right now.

the only thing i'm really concerned about is email forwarding. I may just drop that all together, or just let my registrar handle it.
