if yes, can you recomend some decent software that has voice navigation?

I have microsoft streets & trips 2005 with the GPS locator but no voice navigation.

Thanks

Yup, I've got a Dell Axim X30 and use the Belkin Bluetooth GPS kit.

It's pretty nice:
- Voice Navigation
- Auto reroute if you miss a turn
- so on, so forth.

for a TON more info, checkout the Forums at gpspassions.com

Hehe, I did, but my Dell bluetooth GPS slipped out of my hands carrying a bunch of stuff to the car and I ran over it :Q

Well, not all is lost, as I fished the insides out and pryed the broken plastic off. Damn thing still works. In a Baggie, but it works :p

So, I am going to try to get Dell to send me a case for it. Failing that, I'll simply take a nice piece of zebrawood, shape it into the form of the Dell GPS, slice it in two and hollow it out. I'll hollow the inside out with a router then varnish it inside and out. I'll make a grove around the inside edges to put a gasket in to make it waterproof. Then the guts go in, and I screw it shut.

Ought to be the most interesting GPS out there :D

Heh, wish I could afford X50v.. How do you like it so far? Is it comparable weight and size-wise to Toshiba e800?

I looked on Belkin's site for their GPS since it seems to be very well liked around here. But it says it doesn't support Windows Mobile 2003SE. What about you guys running X50vs or X30s how does it work? Does it just not support landscape mode?

I use my iPaq 3970 with Tomtom Navigator 3, works very well, excellent maps (especially the 3D view), clear voice guidance and superb integration with realtime traffic information via GPRS.

Now that sounds good. Especially with the realtime traffic information.

It is, I use the same software/hardware but with an iPaq 2210 and two large memory cards. The TomTom software is excellent - bright, clear, easy-to-understand graphics, excellent voices, comprehensive re-routing, itinerary planning and a fair bit of stuff that I'd never even use.

Once I get my GPRS phone repaired, I'll be using the traffic plugin too, as automatic re-routing away from traffic will be an absolute godsend.

Highly recommended

Where's a good cheap source for the Tom Tom stuff?

I could give my wife a break from backseat driving with one of those...

I have the Dell brand Bluetooth GPS kit, and it works great. Their software is easy to use, and it's loaded with great info on any area you travel to.

The only drawback is that the car mount broke on my first trip, and my handheld fell off the windshield, hit the dash and shifter, and then landed under my feet. Fortunately, the X30 is rock solid. :)

Here ya go.

Seriously, I work as a Field Service engineer for a computer manufacturer, and thus I can drive up to ~1200 miles a week here in the UK. Without a shadow of a doubt, that is the most useful piece of electronics gizmo thing that I have ever bought. The amount of stress it has removed from driving is incredible, and I can't recommend it enough.

</free plug> :p

Might want to also take a look at the Garmin quest.

It should, as long as you have a seperate memory card for the program.
