I want to steal my neighbors internet. I only get crappy Apartment wi-fi that kills all downloads and all I see is 2 other networks that are password protected. Good for them, seriously. People should password protect their stuff. But I know there's somebody who's got an open one around here.

I'd order Cable or DSL but cable doesn't install in my complex and DSL works out to $90/month since I'll only be here for 3 months. Argh.

Might want to try another forum then. I hear www.pieceofsh*t.com is a good one for your ilk.

You're an idiot. If someone leaves their wireless open, as far as I'm concerned you're basically saying, "come use my bandwidth." If you're so stupid that you can't be bothered to password protect the thing that's broadcasting your internet signal all over the neighborhood, then I have no sympathy for you.

I'm stuck in LA for 4 months for school and the internet we have here is just this side of dial-up. So yeah, I would probably hop onto an open wi-fi signal so I can actually download something faster than 1.2k a second.

Stealing is stealing, no matter how you do it, and regardless of the person or person(s) you are stealing from.

If a bank leaves their vault standing open (whether by accident or by stupidity) it's still stealing when you walk out with a bag of cash...

Just because your neighbor's front door on their house is unlocked, that doesn't mean you aren't trespassing when you walk inside without permission. Whether or not you believe so, trespassing on their private wireless network (using their network without permission is trespassing) and using the Internet access they are paying for is still stealing.
