Not quite. Friendster and Orkut is for social networking. LinkedIn is all business.

well, they dresses it up so it looks 'business-like', but what's the difference, really?

obviously i don't have an account and i have no idea what's going on inside, so if you do know, please tell.

I signed up. Hopefully it'll lead to some job contacts.

I can't tell you what the difference is since I don't do friendster or orkut.

Hmmm orkut is with google. Anyone want to recommend me? I'd like to check it out.

Well, got too impatient, and bought an invitation off ebay for 95 cents. Hopefully it'll get sent soon.

I don't understand what you are asking. Are you asking what makes it business? Well for one there aren't cheesy profiles, galleries of candid pictures, etc. Imagine a networking tool that is used for recruiting, finding jobs, making contacts etc. This is all for professionals.

Friendster is for your personal life.
