Since I am looking at getting the DFI board again even though I know it isn't the most stable and or easy to use (just love the looks) I really want a nice case with a pimp window for under $100 bucks that is easy to carry around if need be....just wondering if anyone has looked at this case and or used it?? thanks

I used a black Kingwin for my brothers computer. It keeps everything nice and cool and is pretty easy to work with. I recommend it. My only gripe is that its hard to change out the fans and the fans included are a bit loud for my taste. Where can you get it for under 100??

I would also look into the coolermaster centurion 5 with a window. SVC has a silver and black one with window for 50 bucks.

Thanks style,

Newegg has the Kingwin for 95.50 or something...I was going to go with the coolermaster Centurion however I read that it doesn't play nice with the DFI NF4 ultra board's audio riser...

Basically if I get the Epox board I might go with the Lian Li 7 series case for 90 and no pimp window...or if I get the DFI with its loud yellow color I am opting for the pimp window.

The Kingwin is Aluminum but it isn't light because it is the thickest I've seen or heard of in a case at 2mm! ZZF has had the best selection and price on Kingwin lately. SVC.com has sold the same cases under the Beantech Igloo name but have been OOS a lot lately. There are others that are more lan party friendly such as the Aspire X-Sonic which is the same design as the original Antec LanBoy except for the front bezel of course and can use the same accessories like the carrying straps, etc.

it isn't light? Mine was pretty light, it wasn't as light as my Thermaltake Tsunami, but it was easy enough to lug around. awesome case, I love how the window looks too.

Thanks Zepper,

I checked ZZF's shipping and ouch...comes out to be pretty much even with NE when all is said and done, maybe save a few bucks but nothing to write home about....

I will check out the Xsonic however I wasn't overly thrilled with the Xdreamer II I looked at...I really liked the Plexi window on the Kingwin and the Lian Li look at a more manageable price...plus even the lower end lian li isn't fully tooless as the Kingwin is.

Thanks again.

The one I have is their "424", and it's an absolute delight to work with. As stated, there are some cheapie steel cases made from tinfoil-thin metal that are as light, but it is a quality case for a mid-range price. The motherboard tray is in fact an entire slide out DRAWER, with the slot opening cage and i/o shield frame attached. Easiest case I've ever had for assembling a system.

Some of the largest, tallest of hsf's might have to be installed after the drawer slides into place, but the mid-sized one I used did slip past the edge. Given the guage of the aluminum, the one I have is also a very quiet box overall. I did change out a couple of the included fans because I wanted fans that the MB's rpm sensors could work with, and the ones it comes with are one-speed types, with plain Molex-4 connectors.

Well the Skyhawk "server" cases (which have mobo drawers like the Kingwin and which are more typical of aluminum cases) I just bought tip the scales at a bit under 15 pounds gross (box and all) and the Kingwin grosses 20. Five pounds is 5 lbs... A lot of steel cases gross less than 20, e.g. the Antec SLK3000-B.

I own 2 of these cases, silver and black, and I love them. Great looks, great quality, easy to work in. My black one has housed 4 different PCs and it's always easy to swap out parts. Finish is great. Many LANs and one quakecon-no scratches yet.

Afew nitpicks though:

-3x 80mm < 2x 120mm =(
-Black pins used on the fans that come with the case suck. Same as LL cases-replace them
-White Bay clips on the window version are an eye sore, Vinyl dye those suckers.
-You have to be careful with the MB clips, they are easy to bend up when installing them. Same as LL cases.

It's nice having a great case that will last for years, I've owned cheap (raidmax, prosource) but never again. Spending that $100+ is worth it IMO.
