Where are you located?

Here in BC, Telus has the best coverage and clearest signals BY FAR... Never any drop calls, rarely any static, and service everywhere...

As for phones, the motorola v60 is nice... and the samsung flip ones are pretty good also...

I've heard nothing but trouble with telus, especially since their stocks have tanked and their union doesn't want to agree with them on anything. I'd stray away from telus like the plague, their cellular division is uber sucky. If you are in Vancouver I'd recommend Rogers AT&T, I've had them for years with no problems whatsoever.

I use it, have had no problems with their service.

My phone is the Samsung SCH-T300, you probably can't get it any more though, since it's been replaced by newer models. It disappeared from their website a while ago, but I saw the phone at a local Telus booth a little while ago. It's a good phone though, worth considering if you can still find it.

Are you using Rogers old TDMA network or GSM network? I used to be with Telus, now with Rogers GSM... also used Fido before...

Fido is the worst by far... you lose your service as soon as you get out of the Vancouver area... Rogers GSM network is pretty new, so quality is not that great... calls are not that clear and sometimes u get dropped calls...

I never had a problem the 2 years I was with telus... never any drop calls and rarely any static... I could get service almost ANYWHERE too (eg. At Harrison, Fido & Rogers GSM get no service while my telus phone was very clear)...

BTW I am also located in BC...

In Ontario and Quebec, Telus has a peering agreement with Bell Mobility to use their network.

Bell has the same agreement in Alberta and BC, so there is excellent coverage coast-to-coast. It's MUCH better coverage than Rogers.

they must have something going on with nextel too, since when you call one of our telus phones sometimes it'll go 'please wait while the nextel subscriber is located'

Are you near the border to the US?

That could explain it.

Yeah, Bell Mobility just started their service here in BC... And I know they had an agreement with Telus and were piggybacking off Telus' network in the beginning... Whether they are still doing it now, or built their own network I dont know...
