for those of you that dont know, if you work in a retail store that carries microsoft products, you qualify to get from stuff from microsoft. it is basically a training website that earns you points. with the points you earn, you can redeam them for different prizes.

i just found out about this service a few months ago and it kind of irritates me. i could have been getting free stuff years ago. so far in the last few months, i have received about 6 xbox games, a shirt, and a wireless keyboard and mouse.

just wanted to get the word out to those that qualify and see how many people are actually taking advantage of this already.

a few other sites you might try are:

www.cyberscholar.com
www.retailaccess.com

anyone else know any different sites that are similar?

i believe those sites are for employees of microsoft partners, mainly sales and marketing people. they aren't for the general public. unless you qualify, you're committing fraud.

they are for general retail sales people.

i have emailed and questioned them. i emailed them a pay stub and qualified for all the sites i listed. btw... i work at gamestop. i have a friend that works at Toys R Us and he qualified as well.

You also will get a 1099 to pay some taxes if you get like $2000 or more in free stuff. Not sure if that number is correct but I worked for a company and we did this after my taxes were done for the year and I had already moved on to a new company I get an email saying they are sending me a 1099.

ok, that's cool. just letting you know since you posted it. this board doesn't exactly consist of the most ethical people on earth. 😉

How do I get to be a MS retailer? If I sell MS Routers and such would I qualify? If it's free then I'd sign my home business up. heh.

I used to do this stuf fwhen i worked at CompUSSR. I got everything from Windows 95 through Windows XP for free, 2 copies of Office 2000Pro, and an HP Inkjet 2000( i think it was their first seperate color inkjet.)

i know you have to work for a prequalified business. now i dont know how you could get your business qualified if it isnt already. you could probably email someone on one of those sites.

its kinda weird how it works.... i mean, toys r us sells xbox games but thats about it. they qualify for the microsoft and the xbox site. other companies ive seen listed on there really dont carry hardly any microsoft products and yet they qualify for all three sites.

Microsoft puts these programs in place and changes them all the time. A few years ago when I was working for a VAR, I got a copy of W2K Pro and W2K Advanced Server w/3 CALS for $100.
