Anyone use/own the Parrot AR drone?

If someone flew that in my face it wouldn't be flying for long. It does look like a cool toy though.
 
I have one. It is pretty fun to fly around, however, any kind of breeze outside makes flying a bit more difficult. I'd say the range is about a block when I fly around the neighborhood. There's a lot of wifi in the neighborhood so it does affect range too. It takes a little getting used too. Also, it has video capability so you can see things from its point of view.

The standard battery it comes with gives me about 12 mins flying time, but I bought a couple higher-capacity ones and a fast charger from a hobby shop which doubled it as well as lets me charge off my car-battery when I decide to go to the park.
 
My brother in law got one for Christmas and he let my toy around with it.

They're cool as hell but it takes some time to learn how to really fly it. Kinda pricey at 300 bucks though. I thought I saw somewhere that a mini version is coming out I'd probably get one of those.

Hasn't happened to me yet, but it's always in the back of my mind when I'm outside flying. I haven't been keeping up with the news on it since I really can't fly it around during the winter, so I'm not sure if they ever figured out why it was doing it. There were a couple theories that the auto-altitude feature was causing it, and it was recommended to turn it off when flying outside.

I had lost connection to it once, and it hovered at about light-pole height until the batteries went dead. Luckily, it was over my front lawn so it kinda had a soft landing...
