Anyone use one of those Handy Stitch sewing things as seen on TV?

Do think they actually work good? It's only $10, so I assume it probably doesn't do much....

I haven't bought anything that says 'As Seen On TV' and I very well may not. It doesn't look too bad, but kind of small and danty to do any real stitching.

That's kinda what I was thinking. It might be good for a repair job, or a small job, but it would probably die on heavy duty or heavy usage...

Yeah? Well their misleading advertising suggests you can sew 4 pieces of denim on top of one another! And they wouldn't lie, would they!?

That's one of the few things I've seen in those adds which actually seamed interesting.

Consumer Reports tested them this month. Said that 2 of the advertized models couldn't handle seams in jeans (even though the ads claimed they would). Just not enough power. The third could handle the seams. All of the models were clumsy and near impossible to thread if I remember the report. None of them could do the job like a professional since they don't have the stiching selecitons and they don't have the table/arm/whatever it is called. They recommended that people just get a standard sewing machine.
