It's not that bad, then again, it's not that good. Download it and try for yourself.

they have trial version of the software. I prefer using GoLive however. I haven't worked too much with homesite. been thinking about swithching to dreamweaver as this seems to be the choice for many.

It's a great program. I was lucky to get v4.0 off a magazine cover cd for free. But something that I found as equally useful was the freeware NoteTab light. It didn't have all the wizards of Homesite but it was still pretty good

EDIT: NoteTab Light can be downloaded from http://www.notetab.com

homesite is awesome IMHO, although I'm kinda biased because I code in CF. HomeSite has it built in like CF Studio.

I also like some of the key-combos it has

1st Page 2000 is pretty similar to Homesite, only it's freeware. 1st Page 2k is really good IMO.

Can some of you link up the sites that you have done? I just want to see a example of the work that has been done.

It's pretty difficult (near impossible actually) to tell if a site was made with HomeSite or 1st Page unless the author put meta tags which say so, but they are professional WYSIWYN tools, and at this page in Allaire's site, if you visit those customers' sites, they're good looking and appear to be written using HomeSite :)

Great program, but I think its getting a little bloated. I've been using it since before it was sold to Allaire.
