Anyone use HDMI port savers?

I tried to but the right angle was too close to the back of the tv and the cable wouldn't fit. Ended up fitting fine just plugging it directly into the tv. Had just enough room between it and the wall.

My dad has some cable saver cords. They are short super flexible hdmi cables that work pretty good. Not sure where he found them on monoprices site though.

Ick, no. Don't use that. When you try to plug something into it, you'll be pushing the wrong way on the port, which could break it. As Crucial said, use a cable version if you really need to use a port saver.

All you have to do, and how I'd imagine most people would use them, is it put them on the cable first and then plug them into port. That would completely avoid the situation you're talking about.

I use that, make sure you know which you need before you buy it.

Also, make sure you have stress relief for the cables. Do not just hang them from the port. I usually have a metal bar sticking out from under whatever component and twist tie the cable (with some slack for the component side) so that the cable is not hanging off the connector.

Good idea, but I use 15ft runs and am afraid the weight may do more damage than just pulling the cable in and out. An HDMI extension cable would probably be better, less stress as its not close to the port.

Stress relief is everything 🙂
