Anyone use direcway/direcpc for internet?

Direcway is offering 128K upstream and 400K downstream two way satellite internet access for $59.99/month. I have no other option where I live and I am sick of dial up.

I am wondering if any of you use this or know someone that does. I would like to see what up/downstream numbers actually are before I buy.

I'm in the same boat as you zbalat. Bellsouth and Adelphia wont get off their @ss and implement in my area.
I seen Bestbuy had an add for Direcway this weekend. It said $150 with free install (199 value) with service starting at $19.99
Havent had time to go check it out yet.

Anyone else know anything about this?????
 
I'm live in the boonies also so if any aone out there is using Directpc or Directway your input would be greatly appreciated.😕
 
well if i had to choose between dialup and $60 a month for slow speeds i'd take the directway anyday of the week.
 
My boss wants to get some broadband to my house 🙂) nice boss). My only option is satellite. Do a search on here, there is one guy who works for HUghes or something that gave the lowdown. High ping times, occasional blackouts with bad weather, etc. etc. But I am sure it beats my 26K dialup.

The only thing I don't like is that it requires a "professional installation" which is about several hundred dollars. I guess cause its two way or something, maybe you have to be a little more accurate as to where it points. Seems kind of high to me.

Direcway does offer a one-way and two-way service and I do assume the $19.99 is for the one-way. I'm gonna go by BestBuy this evening and get the low down. Sounds like a fairly good deal they have going on with the free install. I'll let yall know what I find out.
