anyone use D.scaler?

I have a avermedia Tv98 tuner and a vanilla agp TNT video card. When using Dscaler, it doesn't seem to have any visible difference on Tv quality, or coaxial input or Rca input either. am I doing something wrong? I've tried all the different progressive scan filters and stuff it comes with, no go.
 
Not a response to your question, but I would like to know more about using DScaler myself. I tried to install it and I find it wants Visual Basic C++ or something, which is expensive just to install this program. Someone want to explain using this program?
 
I noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement using DScaler compaired to Pinnacle's PCTV Vision software. If you do go to te avsforum, you might want to do a search before you post a new thread. They have a tendency NOT to answer newbie/over discussed questions.
