My Dad's TV antenna is broken, we don't have cable or satelite, so local stations are it. Can you reccomend a good antenna for a single TV?

I use one, but its not good, so i won't recomend it.

I did see a bunch at best buy though, and they looked fancy.

i use one. i have satellite but think its ridiculous to have to pay for public channels. so i switch inputs b/c i use S video for my satellite, not coax.

I tried the rabbit ears, but they aren't very good imho. what you want to do is find out where the tv. towers are, from where they broadcast. then, based on the distance to your house, go and buy a roof/attic antenna designed for that distance. i did that and I get really good reception. Put it in your attic so its out of sight. then, tweak it by one person being in the attic and the other person in front of the t.v. and talk on the cellphone. I think my antenna was like less than 50 bucks, but its clear, and no ugly rabbit ears.

I tested out a few antennas for local HD. Radio shack bow-tie is good as is the Zenith Silver Sensor. Terk antennas seem to generally suck. For outdoor Wineguard (sp?) is supposed to be very good.
Antennaweb.org is for HD stations but it may give you an idea about what type of antenna would be best in your area.
