If so, how well does it work? Does it work fine with games or you have to mess with a lot of shit to get it to work.

Also, how did you go about setting it up/installing it on your PC (W7 64 here). I've seen a few guides but no clue which are worthwhile or which is the best way to go about it or not.

Thanks

Use MotionJoy. It installs the drivers that will allow the controller to work correctly, and it will allow you to run your controller in xbox 360 emulation mode meaning that your computer will think that the PS3 controller is a xbox 360 controller which allows compatibility with a lot more games.

You can use the guide here to help you install it and get it running.

I use one of these, unlike most Logitech products it's actually put together very solidly.

it works fine but just getting a 360 controller is less of a hassle

Not really any hassle. The driver installs extremely simply if you follow the instructions. It works just like a 360 controller, so why spend money if you already have something that will work just fine?

Thank you very much for links simonizor, I'll be try it out in a little bit :D

Thanks everyone else for responses as well. Reason I want to use the PS3 controller (besides liking it) is I rather not purchase another controller or an adapter (for my wireless 360 controller). I have an extra PS3 controller so figured it be perfect for this, and seeing how there is emulation to make it appear as a 360 controller that is great news :D
