I think I'll be one of the many who plans on building entirely new rig to play Crysis.

I'll let the game launch and probably build 2 months after it.

Lets start with your hardware wishlist; performance speculation for the game is welcome.

Meh, i'd just add another graphics card to my current rig (linky in siggy) and throw in a PhysX card beside it. It does use PhysX, doesn't it?

Hmm... well, by the projected time it comes out, i'd have to think that Crossfire will have matured more, so i'd have to say i'd semi-rebuild my rig, with an XFire motherboard (maybe something will have come out faster than the ATiExpress3200 chipset) and probably two 1900XT's. I'll be damned if two of those suckers couldn't run it at decent enough settings, hopefully on a nice, large, WS LCD :D

I'm definitely playing it on my current 2405FPW so I need a monster to run it smoothly at native 1920x1200

so I'm thinking........
2GB DDR2
most likely Conroe/Duo 2
R600 DX10 or Crossfire version
700Watt psu with 50+ amps on the 12V

Now I feel poor just thinking about this.

Just think... if you just save money every month you will have enough by the team the R600s come out.

I am holding off any upgrades until the game comes out and benchmarks are released. I'm currently running a Pent 630, 2GB DDR2, and 7800 GTX and have a Dell 2001FP. I think the only thing I will keep is the monitor. My systems is a Dell (of course ;)) so I'll look into either a new Dell refurb and upgrading it, or build my own, whichever ends up being the better option.

Crysis will make use of multiple cpu's, so Core 2 Duo is definitely on my list. I imagine 2 GB's of ram will be ok. Video card will be anyone's guess. I hope to run the game at 1600x1200 with a single gpu.
