First off thanks SSP for setting up a server for us!

Paldo, I've been in a few clans and been playing online games for a few years. I will have to admit Ive really slacked off, reason being I havnt played any online games in forever it seems. I havnt played UT in atleast 6 months. I was a big Quake2 and Tribes player. I dont even have gamespy installed anymore. We use to use Battle Com or Roger Wilco to communcate. Your a very good player! I thought all of us were pretty good, its just you stood out more then the rest. :) Even when I use to play UT I never seen anyone that good with a Sock Rifle. But again the game has been out 4-ever now. How were you using that Translocator to to get up on the upper part of the building in the map Face? It seemed you were able to use the translocator and shoot it up to the 2nd level and enter.

Cya....

doh! Sounds like I missed some fun :( SSP or someone, could you PM me if you are playing tomorrow? I'd love to practice my "Sock Rifle" skilz too! :) and maybe my ultra-long-range Impact-Hammer-propelled Translocator lobbing, that is about the only thing I like about Face ;) and I can demonstrate for those who don't know how already. Puts you on the enemy's tower without having to run across the open area, a very handy trick.

Sure thing Mech. :)

.paldo's a bit fond of that shock rifle combo thing. :) Its pretty cool the way you moved through the map using the translocator. I couldn't even take you out with my sniper rifle (Well... I got couple of head shots). :)

BTW - How do you use that translocator? :D

The trick with the translocator is to fire it onto the ramp on the top of the tower, then get the Impact Hammer and put the crosshairs on the near edge of your translocator and fire down onto it at about a 45-degree angle. The translocator will be blasted a long way, and you can alt-fire the translocator to transport to its resting place. If you aim right, it will put you on the enemy tower or near the base of it.

It's worth noting that this doesn't seem to work in DM games, only CTF. In DM, the translocator disc gets destroyed and you die when you try to translocate.

The trick also works great in Hall Of Giants, you can blast a translocator clear to the far side of the map from the upper platform behind your flag. :)
