You may want to make your thread title more descriptive and ask people for the following:

1) Their marital status
2) Gender (M or F)
3) If they have had a clean driving record for the past 3 years?
4) What kind of car? Sports cars = higher insurance premiums
5) Some insurance companies (like my American Family Insurance) offer discounts if you have good credit and if you qualify.

I was paying $60 a month on a $25,000 SUV w/ 4WD. I was only 22 at the time. No tickets, no accidents, multiple car discount with my g/f.

Location is a HUGE factor.

I'm in Iowa, and collision rates here are virtually non-existant(in ratio to other states...except maybe North Dakota ;))

Well, basically I'm looking for people similar to me: 21 years old, reasonbly clean record (one no seat-belt ticket). It just pisses me off that I can afford a really nice car, but insurance is trying to screw me over.

Then you cannot afford a really nice car.

This reminds me of what happens to most people who win the lottery - they go bankrupt. Why? They thought they could afford a really nice house and paid cash for it. When it came time to pay to heat/AC/property taxes/maintanence/clean they had no money left. Moral of the story - they couldn't really afford the house.

Well, here's the deal: I can afford to pay up to $800 a month on lease/loan + insurance. However, instead of paying 600 for the car and 200 for insurance (which would give me a pretty sweet ride), I'm limited to $400 car and $400 insurance. And that isn't even a sports car. Just for comparison, my father is paying $500 on car payments and $100 insurance. Either way, I'm looking around in hopes of finding something better.
