Anyone try the nVidia's 3D glasses with games?

I saw them on sale at mircocenter. My friend has an older version. He said it was ok for some games but didn't deal with HUDs well.

Does that only work with the colored 3D glasses? I have a pair of the polarized ones from the movies.

For a cheaper version, provided you have an nvidia GPU, is to simply do this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/h...your-games-in-real-3d/

Thanks for the tip! Im going to try that out and if it works at all

Yes it does. It works pretty good.

I've always wondered - does the color of the game get messed up looking through the different colored lenses?

Yes. I tried this and it works pretty poorly. The image separation doesn't work very well at all.

Im still hoping to try this.. Apparently i don't have any 3D glasses anywhere anymore. Any suggestions on where i can get a pair? I already checked dollar stores, any where else i should look before ebay?

Hm, it worked pretty well for some image galleries I looked at online after I picked up the Super Bowl glasses, so I'm still willing to give it a shot.

Try here or here.

Looks like the kind of site you're wanting. A 30 second Google session worked wonders.

Sorry.. I guess i should have clarified. Im looking for a STORE that i can go get some. That way i dont have to deal with shipping a cheap item like that. Also, I dont need 50, so most of the online places (yes, i can use google) dont apply..

The blu-ray version of Journey to the Center of the Earth (Brenden Frasier) includes several pairs of red/blue glasses.

are you talking about the blue lense red lense 3d glasses?

if you are why dont you just get a pair of glasses from an op shop pop out the lenses and wrap some celophane around the eye sockets?

crude yes, but it gives you a chance to try it out, and if it works and you like it then invest in some propper glasses.

I actually have done this using a marker for coloring. It worked, but the color wasnt a constant fill so it wasnt perfect. It looked good enough to convince me to give it a try with some cheap 3D glasses.. Ebay is probably going to be my source, that way i can sell extras to my friends 😛

I used stereo glasses years ago. Is that what they are now as well?

Yep.. thats what they are now

I bought some for about $10 on ebay. Worth the novelty of seeing people's faces when you tell them you can play games in 3D and then show them, IMO.

Newegg was selling some for $200 and they had 5 star ratings, even for older games. They only complained about games that had the "film grain" effect.

If these ever get to a really good stage I will invest in them for FPS and flight sim games.
