They felt really comfortable and it really drowned out alot of the noise. What other similar headphones are there that are cheaper? From what i hear around here , Bose is way overpriced.

Look at sennheiser, grado, there's a couple sony models that are nice.

(There are plenty of others too, I'm not a headphone expert)

From the sounds of it he's looking for something that provides decent isolation, Grados definitely do not.

A decent pair of circumaural closed headphones would probably best emulate what Bose has.

Sennheiser's "Open-Aire" is not circumaural closed right?

Sony MDR-V6 (~$65) is what I use to listen to mp3's and play games. I love them.

If you're more serious about your audio and have money to spend, you might want to go with a little more expensive Sennheisers.

Be sure and get a headphone that is comfortable. It doesn't matter how great the headphone sounds if you can't even stand to wear it for any decent length of time. ie. I first purchased a pair of Grado SR60, but these type of headphone rest completely on top of your ear. I couldn't stand for my ears to be pushed down for very long and have since sold the SR60's on ebay and bought the pair of Sony V6's.

One thing I like about the bose headphones that its smaller than most of these headphones. Does sony make one thats similar?
