Do you have the 1.01 patch? Still have not got it to work from behind a router, but they added a couple of command line arguments in the 1.01 patch that should get around that. The problem is, if you are behind a router, when contacting the server of the game it reports your internal IP address to the server, and you can never connect. They added 2 command line arguments to the 1.01 patch that will allow you to get the game to report your external IP address.

Of course we tried to game last night, and could not even connect using ESO, oh well.

No kidding huh? Yeh, I was trying to connect from behind a router. No go. Tried putting myself out on the DMZ. Still no go. Is this patch out yet?

warcraft was getting dull since you can have a couple guys and a hero or two running around killing everyone, it's just not as much fun as with say, starcraft where you could easily dropship 50 guys into a base and not be sure if you were gonna take it or not

The patch is out. You need to connect to ESO servers to get that. It is supposed to solve the problem from playing behind the router.

No. The charriot archers are the best archers of the game. The egyptians can do a nice rush too.

Like Age of Empires, surprisingly better graphics, faster game play, more diversity, and still pretty good balance.

Pretty much. And since I didn't really get into Age of Empires, I am not going to purchase it (I was in on the Beta).

But, if you really liked Age of Empires, you will probably love it

The patch came out last Friday. You can either update AOM using the shortcut that gets installed, or just connect to ESO and the patch will be applied automatically. The patch puts a .rtf file in your AOM directory detailing what was fixed and it includes the two new command-line arguments.

The two command line arguments talked about in that post (AddressServer and OverrideAddress) are the ones they mention in the patch document. I assume you still have to upgrade to the 1.01 patch to get those command-line arguments.

Sweet, I will have to check out hot deals to see where I should pick this up. Sounds like a lot of fun, I always liked the economy better in the AOE series than any of the other RTS's.

I happened to like it. It seems to be a love or hate thing for most people though, but if you've enjoyed the AoE series then you'll probably enjoy this and find it pretty easy to jump into.
