Read some ads today... thinking of getting them but I don't know how good they are.

Philips CD-R (50 pieces)
3 for $22.99, or $19.99 per pack
# 852-283
OfficeDepot

KhyperMedia CD-R (100 pieces)
$13.89; Regular price: $34.99
# 2018-7245
OfficeMax

I've searched some reviews but non are helpful. I even went to www.CDMediaWorld.com

I've bought more KHypermedia CDRs than any other brand and I've never had a problem with them. They show up as CMC Magnetics media, which I guess is good.

CMC sucks, or so is the generally consensus around here.

I guess it's not good, then. But I've still never had a problem with them. :D

Two things you need to wonder about media. Does it burn successfully, and does it last?

I remember hearing Taiyo Yuden getting by far the best ratings in age tests. Something like 80 years whereas some "brands" can get as low as 2-10.

I've never had problems with Khypermedia...other than the fact I don't know how to pronounce it...is it Kipe-her-media or K hypermedia?!?! Argh!

I wouldn't pay $13.89 for those KHypermedia disks. I got a 200-pk of them for FAR and $5 on two separate occasions. Anything more than that is not worth it for those disks. :)

unless its for cd mp3 its not worth getting anyways. dvd r is so cheap that theres no way for cdr to compete in terms of price per gb let alone convenience. the cdr has to be more then 6times cheaper just to match dvdr. thats not gonna happen when you can get 50 packs of dvdr at frys for 10-12bux each week

both are probably made by CMC magentics so they are the same. i prefer philips but look on hotdeals or fatwallet and you can see some crazy deals on TY's (verbatim)

Sigh. What happened to CDRs that were free after mail-in rebate? At least I still have 225 to hold me over.

All of my discs are CMC Magnetics. I occasionally get coasters on my generic CDRW drive, but it's usually okay if I burn it slow.

Most of the stuff I'm burning is either music or VCDs on CD-Rs.

What's your take on GQ (Great Quality) media? I think Fry's has it for 100 pack for $10.
