anyone tried Hamachi, virtual lan over the internet

I'm testing this with a few friends, we seem to be able to browse eachothers shares, a little slow though, but it works

we are trying to get a warcraft3 game running but thats not working so far, but its supposed to work

If it's slow, doesnt that negate the whole purpose of LAN? Why not just play games over the internet normally? And if you need to share files, that's why FTP is for.

you are always limited to your bandwith no matter if you are using the internet or using this vpn program

Exactly what I have been looking for. My router seems to not like to cooperate with PPTP VPN connections and I really don't have the time to work on it. This is an idiot proof VPN setup for me. I can see many uses for this.

However, RDP seems to be a bit problematic with it, and it will not run as a service. Once they have those issues fixed it will be great.

it works so well

the problem we had with warcraft is that because of how it works the one who hosted had to open a few ports so the others could see the game

another bump because its such an awsome program and I'm getting owned by my friends in dota allsars every night

Ok, so I've got this program and it's excellent. However, I need help doing something. All you do is run the program and get all the peers onto the network, then ally ou do is launch the game, host a server in LAN and it should work?
