Anyone tried Best Buy's trade-in program?

Never used it, but it looks like a good deal for those things that have no value otherwise. (like cellphones) It sure beats dumping them in a recycle bin.

we traded in a Canon S400, including original box, manuals, CDs and chargers. they gave us 40 bucks in BB GCs for it.

much better deal than we would have received on ebay. BB GCs are practically like cash to us, since we like going there to get DVDs and other random items.

the process was simple: quote it online, they direct you to a UPS label to print out and send into them. drop the box off at a UPS location, and they deliver to best buy's trade in center. when they receive it and inspect it, they send you an email with the amount they will be giving you and you will receive the gift card in the mail in about 7 business days.

you should generate a quote online first to see if it is worth your time.

I think you could've gotten more on Craigslist or even the FS/FT forum
