9 more days... man those bottles are looking very thirst-quenching after my 3 days with my reserve unit this weekend ;)

self control... self control... self control...

I think I can hold out a bit longer.

:D

BEHOLD! Such is the power that I have mastered this night!
Well not really, but what you see is the end result of my first attempt at making my own beer. It's just been bottled for about an hour now, and needs to sit in the closet you see in the pictures for another 2 weeks while the final bit of sugar I put in while bottling it makes the carbonation. The closet is in our smallest bedroom, and that's why I couldn't get in there to get a really good picture, but you can at least get the idea. Total was 49 bottles made in the end, and it smelled great while I was bottling it. I'm hoping it's the first of many good batches to come.
:D

So who wants to drive to VA and come to the tasting party?

EDIT: I forgot, there was some kind of smear on my camera lens, I've cleaned it off now but I don't feel like taking the pics again.

$hit, i'm from VA. I'm in Blacksburg, VA. 2 minutes from Tech. I want some beeeeeeeeeeeeeeer.

Hope your bottles dont explode.
My family attempted beer making once. Didnt go so well. About half the bottle tops blew off from the pressure. Out of the other half of the beer, half of that tasted horrid. But, the remaining 25% was sweet ambrosia. :)

Although, 25% is not a good success rate. :(
However, we do have win making down to nearly an art :)

Nice looking brew. Burp. I noticed that your digital camera tends to blur the right 10% of each picture. Which digicam is it? Does this happen on other shots, too?

[edit]: I re-read your post where there was a smear on the lens. You really shouldn't be eating some KFC so close to your digital camera. :D :D

start at this website
I got started when I went to a wine store and they had an entire area dedicated to the homebrew hobby. After talking to the guy in the store that did it every month I picked up the equipment and went home to start brewing.

I'll definitely be posting here when I finish it up, let everyone know how my first attempt was.

not hard at all, it's just like making a soup. Boil malt, hops, and other stuff for about 45 minutes, add things to the pot every once in a while (the kit I got had a timetable for when to add everything), put into 6.5 gallon bucket & wait 2 weeks. Bottling took about 2 hours but that was extremely simple. All in all, it's very easy to do.

That would be the Vintage Cellar. That's where I get kegs for my kegerator and where I got my homebrew kit. :D
I love that store, plus the complimentary beer tastings on Fridays ;)

If your thirst your solute concentration must be too high and your hypothalamus detected it and activated your thirst mechanism :/
