To put it in typical ATOT terms, if there was a war between the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare guys and the Call of Duty: World at War guys, I'd want to be on the Modern Warfare side.

That's fine. Because with this you could pick people off from a distance and your non-bolt action rifles wouldn't be able to accurately fire back.

For a crate of 20 "Modern Warfare" rifles, you would have to add on a 0 to the end of the price. You can equip 10x as many people with these, think of the savings!!!

They'd still be bolt action.

nope, many, many automatic rifles capable of sub-moa in lots of different calibers - just look at the AR15/10 line of firearms - very accurate and so many calibers you can have just about whatever you want.

Military DM and Sniper rifles tend to universally be at best 1 MOA accuracy. SWAT snipers tend to aim for 0.5-1 MOA so they can reliably hit the brain stem at 100 yards, but military rifles require reliability/durability in harsh environments over ultimate accuracy and are going to be 1-2 MOA depending on the weapon.

Also people tend to give bolt action a bit too much credit. Yes, bolt action helps, but it's not as big an impact as the round itself, barrel specs, etc. Remember, before a couple of years ago, the longest sniper shot was made with a .50 BMG round out of a Browning M2 machine gun with a Unertl 10x scope at a distance of 1.42 miles.

What do you mean thinking about. Everyone should have a POA if SHTF. Granted half my neighbors think I'm nuts but the other half have been receptive. One guy a federal Marshall has some cool hardware likie full autos, mines and stuff. I'm still waiting on my Form 4 for M16 I bought in March.

just out of curiosity, why did you go the whole lower/firearm instead of a rdias? also, what did you end up getting?

Ignorance. I would have got a RDIAS if I had known the advantages like I do now. But back around November 08' the impetus of a ban with Obama sparked my curiosity in full auto - I just grabbed the first thing I saw. In retrospect with no ban I could have waited.

FYI - I paid 9K for an SP1 conversion by Lafrance

When did you put paperwork in? They cashed my $200 check in April still no okay. I bought it through one of my C corps so that may take longer but WTF - I've never even been in the back of a police car.

nonetheless very cool, i am sure you will be happy with it. just out of curiosity, would you need another stamp to put a sbr upper on it? or is that covered since it is already a nfa item? not that the extra $200 stamp would mean that much when you are into f/a items, just curious.

so atf cashed your check in april? man, i didn't think it took that long and even faster when you went w/ a corp or trust, guess lots of people doing nfa stuff :)

No extra paperwork for sbr - not like I want one though. I have a LMT piston upper I'm slapping on there which is 16" is about the shortest I want in 5.56 due to failure to frag...My AR is also a 16" Noveske..maybe a 458 socom SBR upper would be cool but I like limit my ammo stash to common rounds for several reasons, cost, finding if SHTF and optics like ACOGs are gauged for them. Rounds like .308, 5.56, 45ACP 9mm, 12ga - all common are the way to go IMO. Only exception I have is my deer rifle in 300 winmag. .308 just can't kill humanely at distance.

If you want to add a suppressor that's another 200 though.

Yeah form 4s are taking FOREVER according to dealer ATF is being hit by 4x usual number and I'm just guessing - but I doubt adding processors is this admins highest priority.
