how many of you are getting prey on july 10th? well i have a 360, but for some reason prey seems like it was made for PC. and im getting a 7900 Gt soon. i know it was built up on the doom3 engine and thats a pushover for the 7900 gt. but they changed the engine in so many different ways, with the effects and all. just wanted to know everyones opinion on the matter.

should be enough for it since it's open gl. I think the game is kinda cheesy. Doom type games always rub me the wrong way.

I dont think its doom in anyway imaginable. Apart from using the doom3 engine.

It will defitnitately work well on NV cards since prey looks like it will be OpenGL and doom3 based.

In the game you are a native american running around a place that's full of bionic creatures...

That sounds like quake 4 and the ::shudder:: strogg.

To answer the OP's question, your card should run it fine.

By the way what resolution will you be running this game at? depending on your resolution that card may be overkill or not enough.

Hmm, a bit off-topic, but I never heard of this game until I saw this thread. Looking at screenshots, it reminds a lot of Turok:Dinosaur Hunter from the N64...is this a spin-off/sequel of sorts?

well im planning on just playing it in 1024 by 800. i dont like it when its in a really high res. the HUD gets all small and stuff. and to answer the other guys question, no its not a sequal of any kind, is a totally new game created on the doom3 engine, but modified ALOT. looks sharper, the effects are mind blowing, and the weapons look like they took a lot of thought to create. the game looks great. if you want to know more about it ill post links to high res trailers.

Then a 7900gt is pretty much overkill.. even with max details

This game has been in the making for 13~ years. It has nothing to do with turok although it might seem similiar.

The makers of prey are the makers of dukem forever? i think it was, and im sure duke forever is coming out soonish..

just saw the official trailer 3 from gamespot, this game will rock dude!
I doubt if the 7900 would be an overkill or even play it at full eye candy. Just see the trailer and comment.

How many games would they sell if a 7900GT couldn't run it? Use common sense.

The concept of prey goes way back to the mid 90's. I think it was first announced in 1995. Turok, being a 1996 game, may or may not have had any influence. Coincidence IMO.

However, the comic strip Turok goes back to the 50's.

Yes, unless the indian is running around and slaying dinosaurs and poachers, it just isn't the same.

i just realized somethin. what about crysis? crytek said that the game wont be graphics hungry at all and wont need a next-gen card to run the game with all the eye candy. i forgot where i read this but im positive that it was an official statement from crytek
