i remember a time when it was only a few articles here and there that was an "insider" article. now... i'd say about 50% of the articles on espn.com require an "insider" subscription. i'm bored as heck at work, so i'm thinking i will take the plunge. however, i noticed that if u subscribe to "espn the magazin", you get an insider subscription free. from espn's website, a subscription to the magazine will run $40... which isn't bad; $3.50 a month. but being the cheap ass that i am, i saw that on some magazine subscription sites, i can get a subscription for about $15 a year. does anyone know if i subscribe thru a third party, would i still get the free "insider" subscription too?

That site is to bypass annoying registration to free newspaper sites.

I believe you have to order ESPN the magazine directly from espn.com to qualify for the insider account. I did that, and I'm glad I did because I read a lot of the articles on espn.com although I rarely read the magazine.

according to this you can upgrade your ESPN the Magazine subscription to have an Insider account free of charge. looks like you should be able to subscribe elsewhere on the cheap and then enter the information there to get your free Insider account.

edit: where are you going to get your subscription? i want to do this as well :)

"As an added benefit you will also be enrolled in our automatic renewal program as described on the page that follows. Your credit card will be charged in time to renew your subscription so you won't miss a single issue!"

I get EPSN the magazine, but I didn't "upgrade" to get insider for free. You have to renew for one year, and i had just done a renewel a few weeks before, so f that.

you could always cancel your subscription before renewal time and sign up again elsewhere. they're not charging your card immediatey.

most places seem to offer a one year subscription for $15 (amazon is an example of one). however... i found a website that has it for less then $7! i dunno how reputable and/or reliable they are tho. in case you are interested, click here
