Umm... I can't seem to think of a good reason to drink.

Because Marijuana is illegal in the US?

I get what you are saying, but different strokes for different folks, eh?

Because wine is the greatest beverage ever created?

So I was thinking about going flat out straight edge when it comes to alcohol, and just ceasing all intake together. I'm 20 and in good health, I was never a heavy drinker. I've been completely f**ked enough times to know the ups and downs, so to speak.

I havn't had a drink of anything since new years, but had a few white russians tonight and really felt quite sick. Not drunk, just ill. Maybe it was that drink itself, I'm not entirely sure.

Maybe I should just stick to drinking a light beer, if anything at all. Any thoughts from those who do / don't drink?

Try it for a couple of months, come back, and tell us how it is going.

I couldn't agree more. It's quite sad if you can't enjoy life without some sort of crutch.

Agreed. One of the worst possible crutches is the need to look down on others to feel better about one's own self.

That is human nature, isn't it? And don't act like you don't have more than a few posts here putting others down. Hypocrisy at it's finest!

I'm not looking down on you if you choose to drink, as I couldn't care less, personally. If you feel less of a person because of it, it's certainly not my doing. 😛

😉

I don't drink at all.

Rather, I do drink, but that's to taste a new drink. I never drink an actual shot, or a bottle of beer, etc.

The activity of drinking has never appealed to me.

..the more you know about alcohol..the more you'll want to stay away from it..even the one drink a day is on shaky legs in light if recent evidence that alcohol metabolites cause angiogensis..Text..which clearly indicates there is no safe exposure level..Now scientists say they've unraveled the clues behind this alcohol-cancer connection. A preliminary study, published in the Jan. 15, 2005 issue of the journal CANCER, shows, for the first time, that alcohol fuels the production of a growth factor that helps create new blood vessels inside a tumor, a process called angiogenesis. Production of these new blood vessels helps feed tumor cells.
..so I guess it's good tumor fertilizer..The findings support existing theories that alcohol accelerates the production of growth factors and new blood vessels that foster cancer growth. This "represents an important mechanism of cancer progression associated with alcoholic beverage consumption," the authors say, in a news release..so if your going to fault on the side of safety and personal health protection..what are you going to do??

There's a difference between consuming alcohol while you're having a good time, and NEEDING alcohol in order for it to be a good time.

*pours a shot*

The same can be said about nearly every type of food and drink we consume. Breathing air is dangerous too according to most studies. Honestly I'd rather live to 60 and have enjoyed myself than push 80 being a coward afraid of anything which I might find remotely enjoyable. I'll leave that for the fools who think there's an afterlife 😉

😕

At the end many people are sick, regardless of their age and habits.

Its quite easy. I haven't drank since early october because I was spending waay to much money on alcohol. MJ is much more affordable 🙂
