I still subscribe but haven't played in months. One server I'm on was turned into a server for trial accounts and the two times I logged in there were 0 to 1 other people on it.

So I wondered if Rift is having a big shortage of trial members.

It's still a good MMO IMO.

Having a odd problem. Whenever i turn in a quest or grab a quest another window pops up to ask the npc more question. Is this standard?

I was up until 3 weeks ago, have too many games to play ie Tera closed beta test this weekend ,Mass Effect 3 next week,X3 Teran Conflict so had to stop playing Rift, want a Rift tip to level up fast do the PvP war campaigns you will level up to 50 so fast you won't believe it then at 50 the fun starts for your gear.
A lot of players go in PvP campaigns trying to get to level up to 50 with 40 PvP rank and the gear.

I took my time ,did not PvP until level 32 then got to 50 so fast via PvP wafronts that I was catching up on quests at level 50 inbetween PvP etc...

Maybe that's new, I don't remember that fast of leveling from warfronts or 'war campaigns'.

That's standard... I also found it annoying, but as far as I know can't be changed. I played a couple months and then unsubbed. It's an excellent game, but I feel like it's more for hardcore types rather than casual players.

I'm trying the Lite version but I only play it occasionally. My highest level character is 11 and I know the Lite version has a limit of 20 levels, although I think that nothing else is blocked, but I'm not sure (other than the 2 characters limit). I think it's a solid game, I tried a few classes until I kept my warrior for DPS, and my mage for support and some DPS as well. The quests aren't bad but nothing too fun either, pretty generic overall for leveling up for a MMORPG, but I know the fun resides in PvP most likely and maybe those Rift things popping around.

I don't think I'll subscribe but I'll keep the Lite version installed and I'll play my free toons from time to time. Maybe eventually I might give it a try for one or two months, but that won't be for anytime soon, with Mass Effect 3 coming out next week and my job keeping me away from most of my spare time for gaming, I won't have time to dedicate for Rift. But overall it's a decent game, nothing really bad, it's alright, it has its moments.

I reached level 50 in a month with casual play,I was still on level 40 quest areas so had 10 levels of questing areas to do at level 50 ,bear in mind I did not PvP until 32 level, the real grind is from level 50 Rank 1 in PvP to Rank 40.

I still play. Just mostly on the weekends. I suggest finding a higher pop server as the dynamic events are triggered by the number of people in the area. So the less populated servers = Less dynamic events, and more boredom.

Just wait until tonight and look at the shard list, and find one that is atleast high population.

If you started on another server, you can easily transfer your toons. However, you cannot transfer to some that are over populated.

I play on Byriel but that is one of the more empty servers. But it doesn't matter to me at this point because I just run dungeons/warfronts on my lvl 50 toons. I am not in the wild exploring and doing quests so the dynamic events are meaningless to me at this point.

yes

I quit playing back in May last year after hitting 50 and doing all the instances several times. got to be boring and then people in my guild quit logging in so no one was ever arond to do anything. Ended up doing a bunch of achievements and then was like screw this and quit.

I started playing Rift Lite a few days ago to see how much has changed but not a whole lot. It's the best MMO I played since I quit WoW several years ago. Currently playing SWTOR and it's pretty "meh" so far. I'll give it the free month and see what happens.

Yeah i thought it was a bug or something.

Thanks for the advice. I am also currently on the Byriel server.

Game was a steal for 7.49 for the Ashes of History Collector’s Edition. Makes me kinda regret picking up SWTOR even though i got the collectors edition Key in a trade for Arkham city.

I still play RIFT(since beta), WoW/WAR/SWtor on the other hand never lasted longer than 2 months past release. Of course it mostly has to do with my current guild that kept things fun, but I have to say Trion did a pretty decent job making the game playable compared to other dev teams, it's the little details that made it stand out in the sea of generic MMOs.

However, unless you really enjoy end-game raiding and/or battleground-style PVP, it ain't got much more to offer.

The world events are pretty frequent and entertaining. Questing solo at 50 isn't very interesting or good for character progression. I'm still raiding and trying to conquer Hammerknell content. Currently 7/11.

Your character can play multiple roles, except for warriors, who are pretty much tank or DPS. Every other class has heals, dps, and tank or support roles. I like the game because it is graphically gorgeous, has lots of variety in the game world (deserts, mountains, gorges, grassy plains, war torn areas, and lush jungles), there is some grinding but it's not completely excessive, and there are plenty of options to progress your character without a guild, and lots of raid content if you like raiding.

Thanks for the advice. I am also currently on the Byriel server.

If you stick with Byriel, you can look me up. Airguitar & Egads, add me to your friends list. I can run you through dungeons or heal you while you quest. Doesn't matter. I just like to screw around, so I don't mind just following you around and helping you out.

Sounds great. You use Teamspeak?
