Anyone still into collecting sports cards?

I know everyone's got a collection from their childhood, i was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the value of cards these days... i don't wanna buy a becketts (or whatver it was called) any place i can do it online?

You can get some general values online for no charge. I don't know specific site addresses though. Other places charge, but you can get specific. Other than that, your best bet is probably the mag. I know it'll cost a bit, but they're worth it.

thanks for reply, now where should I sell these cards? I know on ebay some of the cards i had valued at a lot of money a few years ago are selling for like a buck... that sucks, should i just sell them to a sports card store?

Unfortunately, the market is saturated right now with all trading cards. Nobody is really buying. the local card shops are slowly fading. Giving way to the e-market place. And now it's so easy to get stuff, that's why the card market is taking a dump.

I would say your best bet is eBay. You might get lucky enough to find a collector who is looking for a particular card. Local shops might buy your stuff, but you won't get good money for it. They're hurting just as bad. No matter what though, if you sell now be prepared to not get what you think you should.

Sorry for the bad news. I'm in the same boat. Trying to raise money for a home and selling off my collection small pieces at a time. I know I'm losing out.

k scratch that then, i think im just going to wait until it's back in style again, cause it does really seem that cards are being sold for dirt cheap, and it's not worth my time on ebay right now

I used to collect cards a lot. I've got about 3 pages of Billy Ripken cards - is there one that's infamous?

Jordan, rookie, Fleer (actually I have the complete set). I'm hoping to use that card to put my kids through college one of these days.

That's too bad. It looks like the main factor now is whether or not I want to maintain my collection since I can't really sell it for a lot of money. And I'd rather avoid eBay as much as possible.

I checked recently. All the ones that were worth a lot, are now worth jack. Just hang onto them for another 50 years and give them to your grand kids 🙂

I have hundreds of them, which at one point were probably actually worth something. Now, they would probably serve me well as a firestarter.
