why would anyone be embarassed by their parents?

I don't recall the last time i've looked at a kid hanging with their parents at the mall, and thinking to myself "whoa, what a loser, he's with his freakin parents!"

Maybe because i have been that kid in the past?

Anyway...people who feel embarassed when hanging with their parents should realize people don't really care enough about you to start teasing you in their mind. So you shouldn't really flatter yourself thinking they do.

OH, and if they do, so what? will you ever see them again? would you want to see someone like that?

It is important to let our parents know we love them...and spending some time with them is a good method to show them our love and appreciation for them.
Walking behind them, or trying to avoid being seen with them only shows you are ashamed of them. There shouldn't be any reason you are ashamed of them.

If you are, maybe you should talk to them.

EDIT: oh, and i'm almost 17 (in a month), and i JUST bought shoes (yesterday) with my mom and sister, as well. I actually had my mom pick the shoes out.

Not embarassed at all. Went to see Blackhawk Down with my mom on Sunday. She only lives 2 miles away, so I see her 3 - 4 days a week.

My dad used to come to my softball games drunk off his ass, that wouldn't make me very happy, but at least he cared enough to come😉 My mom died when I was 21 and my dad died when I was 22, it's nice to see all you guys take the time to enjoy your parents, they won't be here forever.🙁

🙁 sorry myputer and roger

i'm fine with my dad all the time but my mom goes nuts over little things... she needs to take a chill pill 🙂

<< I lost my parents 25 years ago,so dragging them around would be a little awkward. >>

LMAO! I thought my family was the only one with a morbid sense of humor, some people look at me like I am insane when I make comments like that😉

Like when my brother tells me he is going to the cemetary to visit our parents, I will say OMG, our parents are dead!! NOOOOOOO~!

<< here i am feeling sorry for myputer and it turns out shes loony 😱

😉
>>

Sometimes being loony is the only way to stay sane😉

Any parents embarassed about being seen with there kids?

YESSSSSSSSSSS

Occasionally 😉

LOL! Only a couple times, especially when my daughter was real little. She would see someone that was missing teeth and start lecturing them about the importence of brushing your teeth!🙁

When I was in California visiting the family, I took my Mom to see Beauty and the Beast at the IMAX theater at Universal City Walk. She just loves Disney movies. And to be honest, I'm in awe over the animation and quality of them. Seeing it in IMAX was kinda cool.

20 and I get a little embarresed but you have to know my parents to understand why. My parents think they are comedians... thats all I'm gonna say 😀.

Me and a buddy got drunk with his parents on New Years Eve (Yes, that's how little we had to do). Of course, I don't spend time with my parents, but I thought it was cool of my buddy's parents just to drink with us all night long...

Worst part was, his sister/mom had to clean up the mess the next morning

I'm 19 and I'm not embarrassed to been seen in public with my parents. I mostly hung out with my mom since my dad worked afternoons up until last August when the company he worked for went out of business. After that, I was able to hang out with my dad more than the normal weekend setup. Sure, my parents aren't the coolest and I'm nothing like them, but they've done a lot of stuff for me. I value the small amount of time where I can hang out with my parents when I'm not at college, work, or out causing trouble with my friends.

my dad is a crappy father, but awesome to hang out with now that im older... so i dont himd doin anything with him.. and my mom.. well.. shes embarassing to the world... so no.. nothin extra when im with her

Hehe, I am 22 and I took my Mom to the symphony on saturday and then saw LotR with her on monday. Didn't feel the least bit strange. She is a cool person to hang around with, but I wish I could find her someone to be with. She has been seperated for a couple years now and I think she is starting to become very lonely 🙁

I used to when I was in Junior High. Ever since I was about 17 I couldn't care less about being seen in public with my parents. People that are embarrased obviously have some self esteem issues.
