dude... get a smart mirror instead!
just like that wall display link but instead of photos, you see yourself instead...perfect for the door entrance. info at a glance before you step out of the house. works great for us!

I would consider a smart mirror but it isn't for me.

Actually I'm waiting for a real smart mirror like this https://www.netflix.com/title/80146805 fast forward to 25 mins 13 seconds

Can you link to the minimum kit necessary for a pi-hole?
No but all you need is a Pi and a MicroSD card of 8GB or more.

You can choose to power it with an AC adapter or you can just power it by plugging the USB cable into your PC but obviously your PC needs to be on to power it.

And you don't need to buy a case if you don't want to, and they range from like $5 and up, just depending what you want.

any slowdown of speeds?

Just know that rpi has horrible iops since it depends on a microsd card as storage. So if you try to import a big list of hists to block, it may just churn forever trying to digest it.

You don't really need an HDMI cable for the pi hole. You just set it and forget it. You only need it hooked to a monitor when installing it. Then you just access the dashboard from your local network from a PC to configure it.
