I'm trying to find a middle-aged cause I dont want to have to train a puppy and such. My girlfriend wants one too, but we're in college and cant afford a dog that is like 300$ +. Anyone know of any dogs for sale? we've checked the papers and such and can't seem to find anything. :( preferably a small dog.

They won?t even let you have one of those little rat dogs? Dam pounds must not be as hard up as they used to be.

Wow thats insane that the pounds are acting like that. They normally only care if the dog will not be left alone much, been treated well, and be played with and get excerise alot.

Do you have an relative that doesnt live far from you? Maybe use them as your address.

Getting a dog from the pound is the best IMO. Its like they know you saved them and are always so great.

Either way, good luck in findin a dog, hope all goes well for you.

i understand that the pounds need to screen people so that they dont give dogs to bad owners, but i think they are a bit excessive, or at least arent asking the right questions. i think it sucks that they would rather gas a dog than give it to you just b/c you live in an apartment

We've tried that too, that's how sad this place is. We think they just don't want to give up the dog cause they are making money off it's sponsorship. :(

Go to a private animal shelter rather than a public one. Humane Society is private, for instance, while the SPCA is public.
