the japanese makes some pretty messed up movie, and this is one of them. If you haven't seen this movie, i don't recommend it. I saw this last night and I was having a hard time sleeping. Not because i was scared, I was just keep replaying those messed up scenes in my head.

anyways, here is the movie i am talking about if you don't know. here

Takashi Miike, the film's director, has done a lot of shocking movies like this. He averages about 3-4 movies a year shot quickly on DV tape, so the quality isn't always up to par.

There are gems to be found however.. if Audition isn't your style, there's a lot of fast paced action mania to be found such as Fudoh: The New Generation and Dead or Alive.

Want more culture shocks, check out Visitor Q or Gozu.

Comedy? Try The Happiness of the Karakuris or Zebraman.

And finally some drama... The Bird People of China or Rainy Dog

Again, his stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea and some of the movies, like Audition might be hard to "enjoy".

It's on my Netflix queue. I saw "Imprint" a while ago, which was moderately disturbing at times, but I wasn't too blown away. Not sure if that's supposed to be one of his better ones or not.
