Anyone seen new Transformer toys?

I just saw them today and I bought a couple. Man, reminds me of the good old Transformer days. I bought Optimus Prime and Magnus Prime, when u put them together they form Omega Prime or something, sweet!
 
hmmm u could search it up on ebay, just don't wanna look myself 😀
but optimus prime is now a fire truck and magnus is still a car carrier

I like them. The show starts Sept. 8th I think, and was called Car Robots in Japan.

The best toy in my opinion is the Black Convoy, but he is not available in the US yet, just Japan. And since they are renaming all the toys for the American release I heard they were calling him Scourge! what the heck is up with that? Just call him Dark Prime or something, sounds much cooler.

yeah but Scourge was a little sidekick guy with a bunch of clones of himself for Galvatron in the old series. This guy is much cooler looking than Scourge could ever be, plus he looks like Optimus, etc...

Keep in mind that this series has nothing to do with the old series, and involves none of the old characters. I think the only reason they renamed them is because people in the US know Optimus Prime where as they would go huh? if they heard the name Fire Convoy which I believe is what he is called in Japan. Also some church goers might find God Magnus to be wrong, so he is Ultra Magnus now. hehe

Yes I know too much about Transformers 😀

That always fascinated me about some japanese cartoons. The japanese Cell-Game DBZ Saga had a character named &quot;Mr Satan&quot;. It was changed to something less &quot;offensive&quot; when they translated it to Cartoon Network.

The new Transformers series toys should be in toystores now.... there's
Megatron, Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus (as the Deluxe Toys)
Prowl, Side Burn, X Brawn (as the basic cars)
and 3-twopack minicars.

Optimus Prime was called FireConvoy in CarRobots in Japan as he's a Fire Truck.
The premise is pretty good for this show.

I knew the CarRobots line was coming out, and I'd seen some of the regular cars - but Fire Convoy/ Prime is out now?!?

That and I saw an ad for the new series starting early Sept.

Too bad they don't release some episodes on DVD. They released season 1 on VHS and some others on DVD, it would be nice if they released the whole series in DVDs with like 10 episodes in each DVD.

Agreed. I bought the movie on DVD on ebay but I had to settle for tapes for all the episodes.
 
i saw some transformers episodes on DVD at otakon. i did not buy any though.

i also saw some of the toys there, US versions. of course there were japanese versions everywhere =) (almost)
