Anyone seen a good computer desk anywhere?

So I've been looking at desks, and I haven't seen anything good at all. I just want something I can game on, a surface that can support my 21" monitor and leave plenty of mousing space (we're talkin' everglide) and room for a natural keyboard.

All I've seen are "cute" desks - desks with tiny keyboard trays or barbaric hutches - that just ain't cool.

I found one that was almost ok, but it's a corner desk and I don't have a corner.

Anyone using a really good desk? I'm about to just build one...

Ikea. They have a set called the Jerker that you can customize to make it fit your needs, and spend as much as you care to.

I was in the same situation last year. I gave up and built my desk, but it was a corner desk. If you already have the power tools, you can easily build a desk to your specs for less then $50 and some effort into the process.

I second this excellent table combo.

I simply can't believe you don't have a corner!

It's not super 1337, but have you considered used office furniture? This huge set was only $395.00 if you hauled it yourself. This ornate one was $600.00. My father-in-law bought a similar sized old desk, actually larger in both directions, for just a couple hundred including the old swivel chair. It has pull out writing surfaces on both sides, that are perfect for the mouse. I removed the center drawer, and put a pullout keyboard tray in it's place. Perfect!

My solution was to just get a good, sturdy table and put the pc itself underneath it. Get a file cabinet that'll fit under the table (or other storage shelving), and you're good to go with plenty of surface area on the table itself. Most "computer desks" that I've seen are either pretty cheesy or nonfunctional, or both, anyway.

Well, my 19" Viewsonic and MS Natural ergo keyboard to fit, but I was thinking about switching keyboards to get more room, or just going LCD. The swingout platforms are great for laptops or speakers, the shelves let you put media, scanners, printers, etc up there no problem. And I got the optional psuedo server rack thing to house 4 PCs and a KVM. I even got the media hanger thingys to keep frequently needed games and software within an arms reach. But if you have anything over a 19" monitor you should check the desks measurments against your monitor depth and keyboard.

my parents have a desk like your father in law's, built in the 1920s and solid as an oak. those trays are really nice for the mouse, unfortunately my mother has the dumbest setup ever for it (i should take pics)
