I just downloaded the latest firmware (1.27) for my
Smart & Friendly 12-4-32 SCSI burner (rebadged
Sanyo CRD-RW2). The minimal release notes for the firmware
say it now supports "90 minute" media...
Huh? Are there now 90 minute CDR blanks? How can they
get that much data on a CDR? Have they decreased the
band spacing?
Will 90 minute media play on old CD players, or is
this a case of "will only be readable on recent CDR(W)
units"?
Oh, and supposedly the latest firmware also allows full
support for CloneCD, though I've only heard that second
hand and haven't confirmed it.
