Although I'm not personally enamoured with SETI BOINC, one thing they are doing right is eliminating the Team Jumping. That's one thing I'll be glad to see gone!!

And one thing BBR needs to not forget. WE NEVER GIVE UP! :D

What's done is done, I say let's focus on the remaining time we have with SETI Classic and Crunch On Team Anandtech! :D

My traitor comment stands. I realize people sometimes don't like it when you speak the truth but that's just too bad. I, for one, have never regretted telling the truth. :)

Because the end of seti was near I decommissioned a number of PCs and servers. I have plans to bring them back on line. Should be around 100 or so a day more. All the "traitor" talk has me a little pissed off.

And if this game stays under 53 I will have the 8 grand I need for the blade server that will be good for another 100 a day.

That's ok!!! We are TeAm AnandTech!!!! We shall prevail.

100 a day for a single server:Q? for only 8 grand? What the hell kind of blade server does 100 wu's a day?

Actually, that might be possible. Consider that you can get a decent blade server unit (P4 2.4 Ghz Blade for $699) for right around $700, and one of those units can do 10-15 WUs per day or more if it's idle, put eleven of those babies together for $7700 plus tax, assuming he already has the rack and other required hardware, 100 WUs a day on that system is entirely possible. (Not likely that a server like that would actually sit idle EVER, but he can dream and use best possible numbers for his estimates if he wants to. :p)

I guess that some folks get really serious about this DC ... thing ... I just do it to put my home 3 systems to due something while I am at work or sleeping... I do NOT play games so that means plenty of free cycles ...

Yeah, the words "crazy", "insane", "nuts" and "whacked" get used a bunch by people to describe the folks in this forum. :p

Fortunately, most also use words like "friendly", "helpful", "knowledgable" and "dedicated" too. ;)

This is somewhat related, so I thought I'd post it here rather than make a new thread. With all the talk about people starting up old SetiQueues, I figured I'd pull mine up just for kicks. I haven't run my SetiQueue for well over two years since it was easier to just go through one of the main TeAm queues. Anyway, I found a nice little present to myself in that old folder. I opened up the program and happily discovered that somehow the queue had 92 completely WUs that for some reason I left sitting there when I shut down the program in April 2002. I don't know if Berkeley will still actually accept those results, but it could make a nice little bump to my stats (and a tiny bit larger buffer against BBR) if they do... :D

Edit: Well, my stats on the Berkeley site just jumped by just under 100 WUs, so I guess those results were still valid. Neat! :)

All the "traitor" talk has me a little pissed off.

Sometimes the Truth really does hurt doesn't it.

What you have done is commit a traitorous act against your old team.

Some of us have not become some open minded as to let our brains fall out. We still have the ability & the right to state the truth as we see it.

Now, run along with your deep pockets & buy another puter. It'll be an outdated POS in a couple of years, stuck in a back room & forgotten. Just like you.

I can't believe ES has the nerve to complain like that after what he did!....it almost makes me laugh!

Doc
Fair point ,we should let it lie now.
But after a comment like that from him I think you're gonna expect a little reaction;)

Btw a testimony to our team that we didn't flame him all the way to hell & back!;) ,I think we were very restrained ,even those of us who did comment (me included).

This is the last i am saying on the subject,

Benedict Arnold fought brilliantly for the American cause for six years. He was badly wounded twice. Drawing deeply into his own purse to pay expenses, he was never reimbursed for most of them, nor honored by Congress for his victories. Crestfallen and melancholy, he was approached by a smooth-spoken spy for the British. Arnold made the worst decision of his life...he switched sides :(

I agree. What's done is done, enough has been said, let's move on and have some fun while SETI Classic is still on.

Actually, IMHO, this is turning out to be a great race to the end of SETI Classic. I love head to head, pedal to the metal competition. :D

Pour it on, TeAm! :D

Let's keep 5 Alive in '05! :D

I agree as well! We can't know how upset ES was with the mods over what heppened, and if he was not around in the beginning he did not know that got no support from the site for the first few years. It was simply the TeAm that kept us here. It would have just been better had he joined a different team when he left us.

So, let's follow Ray's lead and....keep 5 Alive in '05! :D
