Anyone saw the movie: Signs? good or bad

Hi All,

Was thinking of watching this movie tonight. Has anyone saw or heard if this flick was worth it? I like the Director. He did an excellent job with Six Sense. Unbreakable was ok but a little weak.

I'd like to see this movie. On a related note, I saw a show on TLC the other night about "Uncovered Mysteries" and they had a segment near the end of the show talking about crop circles and how it was possible for 3 men to create very large, complex patterns in a field in one night. BUT! They also showed a very surreal video clip of someone filming a field at night (or early morning) and it shows two white lights moving fairly quickly in a circular pattern over a field and then shows all the wheat (or whatever it was) lay down flat all at once forming a pattern, then the two white lights whisp away. It was the most convincing super-natural video I've seen, especially on TV. TLC seemed to dismiss the video as a hoax, but to me it was very convincing.

Also, TLC will be showing a whole show on crop circles this coming Tuesday, August 6th. Check your local listings! 🙂

Draco,

Thanks for the info. I'll make sure to tune in. I wonder if this movie has some kinda twist or surprise ending like six sense. My guess is, there has to be one.

ScreenIt.com gave it 7 out of 10, and they're pretty stingy with their ratings.

YMMV, but their ratings tend to line up with my opinions of movies. Except the Matrix. That one got a 6 or a 6.5 😛

I give it a B- ...
Left me a little disappointed.
The script was poor.
"There is a monster outside, can I have a glass of water" ????
WTH
The ending was bad too.
Watchable I guess, depends on your company.
I had good company! 😉

Wife and I went to see it earlier tonight. I thought it was a pretty good movie. It had people laughing and jumping in their seats from being startled. It was very enjoyable.

Didn't really like it. He needs to get away from the sci-fi stuff and focus on people more.

It was good for the most part (cinematography was okay, directing was great, acting was good), but the ending ruined the whole movei for me. It was too dissapointing and unsatisfying.

It's not something I'll see again in theaters.

It's hard to top the Sixth Sense; especially if that's your sophomore effort.

I liked it. I didn't think it was all that scary, but it had its moments. The intermixed humor during the entire movie was great.

I thought the movie could have used more scary parts. But the premise has already been done before. 🙂

It had to be the female Scandinavian olympic runner/high jumper! i mean, who else could it be? This movie was weak, go see it if you want to laugh a lot. The whole theater was laughing during most of the movie, until the end when some girl started screaming. The people in this movie didn't have any emotions, they barely even talk to eachother. I'd give it a 3/10. Oh, and why can't they open doors?

Uhh, they CAN open doors, but there are these things called "locks"

Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.. if you come in expecting to be blown away by a revelation like those in Shyamalan's other movies you will come out disappointed. It does have a "revelation" of some sorts but it's more inward and philosophical than plot-oriented.

As to the flat emotions, that was part of the point..if you bothered to think about the events that occured prior to the time in the movie it's easy to see why thy are all so stoic.

And my response to the "bad screenwriting" (i.e. "...can I have a glass of water..") it seems apparent that you've never talked to a young girl. The girl in the movie was PERFECT and similar to many little sisters of friends that I've had.

I loved this movie. The ending could have been better but I felt it was well worth the money and my time. Would see it again!

I loved this movie too. The whole audience participated in it. It was awesome.

I was screaming like a little school girl - I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT!
