Fingers, I've heard that even chips from the same batch have wide variations in o/c ability. Let's see if Insomniac has the same results as I do.

MoneyMINTR: I will tell you tomorrow night, my motherboard should arrive today and my new case tomorrow. Just remember one thing, I will be using the retail HSF.

I'm running a 700e fcpga retail week 20 at 945 1.65v.Using an Asus P3V4X,and Alpha PEP heatsink. All 4 memory slots are used also, and has not crashed in 2 months of use.

Just a quick follow-up. Running the P3-700 listed above at 1001 MHz (143 MHz FSB) at default voltage (1.65 V) with the retail HSF unmodified on a CUSL2. So far rock solid.

How hot are your chips getting? I know the CPU temperature monitoring on the CUSL2 is messed up, but if I add 16 degrees I think I peak at 40 degrees (~130 degrees F) after looping Q3A or 3dMark.

Just doing 'normal' stuff, I am getting 32 degrees (~90 degrees F). This is of course done by adding 16 degrees.

That sounds about right.

I use an Alpha and add 18C to mine. Peak temps are at 42C while crunching RC5.

damn! I should've ordered another P3. oh well. 1 P3 at 1GHz is fine, I guess.

BTW, what the highest you've gotten this chip to go?
