I had downloaded BEOS the personal edition way back but never played with it. I was wondering if it's compatible with windows xp? Since all the assets of be was sold to palm i'm unable to get info from there site.

I've got it and use it with 98, but to my knowledge, it's not compatible with XP or 2K or ME..............🙁 Man I wish someone would have picked that up and ran with it!! I love it! Did you also hear BE is sueing MS claiming it killed the OS and BE Inc.???????😉

You can make the startup floppy disk to run it. And there's a way to get it to BeON it's own standard partition. I believe you can also run the command "bootman" from the command line and then you can configure a bootloader.

If you like the NT bootloader there is a little utility that will add BeOS to the bootmenu, i believe it's actually called "AddBeOS". It's tough to find a good working version though.

Have fun, there's even a BeOS version of WINE out there.

ToBeMe, Yeah I heard BEOS is suing MS, But it's already too late the company's assets were already sold to palm and I doubt they'll continue development for BEOS on the desktop

Dartblazer, Unfortunately I'm unable to boot from the floppy bootdisk. I remembered getting it to run on win2k in the past when it first came out but not sure why it won't boot in winxp. I'm trying to remember whether I had fat32 or ntfs when I installed it in the past.
