Just got my Enermax PSU back (whisper model), and now I am becoming obsessed with silencing my computer. Running a mildly overclocked 1700+ Tbred A @1.6v/1840Mhz. Runs fine witha not too noisy OEM HSF, but still the loudest thing in my system.
I really don't want to spend as much on my HSF as on my CPU, so a SLK anything is out of the question. AX7 is the nearest to my budget range.
Anyone tried this combo, or anyone recommend any inexpensive HS that perform well with 80mm low-speed fans? Even cheaper than the AX7 would be best. I have given up on th idea of trying to get any more performance out of this thing, and now I want to get it silent as possible at this level of OC.
