Does anyone remember those tiny electronic toy cars that were just a tad bigger that an hot wheels or matchbox car that you could buy at radio shack or similar. On top of all that you could purchase mini electric engines, wheels, body shells, etc. for them. Basically they were mini RC cars with easily swappable parts. Anyone remember what they were called, and if they still sell them?

No, no. At least I don't think as these were available for purchase in the US as well.

Edit:
Soundmanred, named it. Apparently they are now called Xmods.

anyone know the name of those japanese ones that had replaceable motors (the worst/basic one was blue, the best ones were usually black)?
They looked like very "framey" cars that didn't have full bodies and tended to be flat / not boxy shaped

i don't think they were rc

I just bought a zipzap kit off of craigslist for $10. It does have multiple motors, rims, tires, bodies.
