Anyone Remember Sacrifice?

I played this game way back in 2002. Great game, but severly underrated. I just bought it on GoG. I downloaded the widescreen patch, and had to tinker with compatability to get the game to work.

It looks a little dated, but it's still a great looking game.

I played a lot of Sacrifice back in the day. There was a short golden age for a lot of interplay studios and Shiney made some solid games at the time.

Sacrifice was way ahead of it's time and was more of a MOBA than a standard RTS game as you controlled a hero and there was absolutely no base building at all. Beautiful graphics and art style, fun gameplay, really a hidden gem that's nearing 20 years old.

usually the reason to get a game you previously had on GoG is windows 10 compatability, re-mastering, patches, all DLCs included, other goodies like soundtracks, digital media, etc...

I had it on CD. All of my game cds I either sold or threw away. I have it on steam, but it's been impossible to run. GOG was different though. Got the game running in about 20m. Took a bit, but it's working.

Sacrifice is one of my all time favorite games and was an interesting twist on the RTS genre.

I always imagined it as similar to Warhammer Realm of Chaos...magically infused realms with bizarre combat units all influenced by the chaos god they serve.

Were you able to get it working? It took me some time. I had to run that Windows diagnosis, and there is a widescreen fix as well. The widescreen fix is below.

Was a really good game, I absolutely dominated my friend in it all the time. Whenever he makes some claim about whooping my ass in some other game I just exclaim Sacrifice! and trigger his ptsd.

Yeah it seems to work okay. Didn't have time to play it much though. Hopefully on the weekend 😀
